International flight to Madagascar and on arrival at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, known locally as
Tanà, you will be met and assisted as necessary and transferred to your hotel for the remainder of the day to relax
and to overnight.
Overnight: Sakamanga Hotel
After breakfast, 68 Kilometers of good paved road leads you to Ambatolampy that deserves attention, to visit a
factory of aluminium pots those are the basic utensils Malagasy, because they are made there. After this visit,
you take the road lined with beautiful landscapes made of rice terraces and cultures during 100 Kilometers up
Antsirabe. Nicknamed “The Vichy Malgache”, the city water you discover the stone-cutting and crafts of the
region of Malagasy ethnicity Vakinankaratra: production of minibicycles and rickshaws and mini processing
horn zebu. Located downtown, the hotel welcomes you for your dinner and night in a warm atmosphere.
Overnight: Arotel
Your car will pick up you at the hotel to go to Miandrivazo. You will travel 220 km. After Antsirabe city, you will visit Andraikiba Lake and Tritriva Lake. These two lakes should not be missed. The volcanic lakes of the region are containing many ancestral legends and mysteries, two most known lakes which make the wonders of
Antsirabe are Andraikiba and the extraordinary and mysterious Tritriva lake. Lake Andraikiba is ideal for walking. You’ll find yourself in a peaceful and harmonious environment, where it’s good to come and relax.
Along the way going to Miandrivazo, you will cross this highland , the coldest city in Madagascar, 0 degrees Celcius in winter. A few distances after Antsirabe, the altitude will decrease, and the temperature will increase.
You will see the variation in landscape and different ethnicities. The guide driver will explain a lot more
information to you during this trip, do not hesitate to ask him questions. Don’t forget too the photo stop with
these beautiful landscapes. So, Miandrivazo is the warmest city in Madagascar; the temperature reaches 40
degrees Celsius in September. On arrival, installation at the hotel for your dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Princesse Tsiribihina
In the morning at 7:30 am, departure to the city of Morondava (distance 268 km and journey for 5 hours).
Passing through several Villages and rice paddies along the way. And going up to the Mountain of the Menabe or
South-West Region, you will see the Panoramic view of all the Plains, rice fields. Then starting there you will find Baobabs all along the road. Arriving in the city of Morondava Installation and lunch at the hotel.
Free afternoon.
Overnight: Laguna Beach
Today, you will be driven to Kirindy. The dust track lead to this reserve. In the evening, you will do the nocturnal visit to spot the different nocturnal species of which microcebus berthae, the smallest primate in the world.
Overnight: Relais du Kirindy Hotel
You will visit Kirindy Reserve. Your diurnal visit will start at 06:30 am. Then, you will go to Bekopaka.The dust
track leads to Bekopaka village. Tsingy of Bemaraha is one of the most rewarding and surprising drives you will ever have. Passing through the dry deciduous forest, you will also embark your vehicle on barges to cross bridge-less rivers. You will reach Belo sur Tsiribihina for lunch and then continue to Bekopaka, the gateway to
the Tsingy.
Overnight: Orchidée Du Bemaraha
Departure for a guided tour of the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park including the Big Tsingy and Small Tsingy.
Hiking, canyon, panorama, endemic flora and fauna…
The Small Tsingy is located near the village of Bekopaka. The Big Tsingy is 17km from Bekopaka, so you take
the car to visit this spectacular Big Tsingy with your local guide. Protected by a harness you walk through this
massif: its suspension bridge (don’t be afraid of vertigo, the guide is there to help you cross it, its cathedrals, its
belvederes, its ladders. The SIFAKA lemurs that you will discover in their environment which is not very shy.

Overnight: Orchidée De Bemaraha
After breakfast, you return to Morondava. Along the way, you make a stop at the baobabs in love and the baobab
alley to see the sunset.
Overnight: Laguna Beach
Today at 06:30, departure for Belo sur mer, located 90km south of Morondava, a small fishing village, also
known for the construction of artisanal boats or dhows. On your arrival, you settle at your hotel. Free afternoon.
Dinner (Malagasy seafood dish) .
Overnight: Ecolodge Du Menabe
It’s a day trip including a visit to the dune of Kirindy Mitea and the island of Nosy Be.
During this one day escapade, you will visit in the morning the dune of Kirindy mitea and you will marvel at its
impressive view of the baobab forest and the mangrove. After swimming, departure for the island of Nosy Be,
located 12 km away.
Once arrived, you can enjoy the clear waters of Nosy Be while your guide, prepares the grilled fish on the beach
for lunch. Return to the ecolodge in the afternoon.
Overnight: Ecolodge Du Menabe
After breakfast, you take the track to reach the agricultural village of Manja. Then you go to the village of
Bevoay, and from there you cross the Mangoky river on barges car transporter. Note that in this part of the island, baobabs are omnipresent. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Overnight: Chez Catia
Before leaving, you stroll through the old-fashioned and charming town of Morombe where time seems to have stood still. After this walk, you continue along the track and the national road before reaching the seaside resort
of Ifaty.
Overnight: Bamboo Club
You will enjoy the lagoon, clear water and warm white sand. We will have however provided a tour of the
baobab forest. Also, you can do other activities outside the hotel will suggested: navigating outrigger canoe with fishermen Vezo, snorkeling, quad, etc. …And it will be in the hotel that you take your dinner and your night.
Overnight: Bamboo Club
Departure to the northern part of Tuléar city. Admiring the arid landscape and tombs of the Mahafaly ethnic
group. Stop in the National Park Zombitse Vohibasia to admire the southern baobabs.
The Zombitse Vohibasia complex is renowned too for its wealth of rare bird species, endemic to Madagascar and
the area. The Park is part of endemic bird area No. 093 according to World Bank 1992.
It also has eight species of lemurs, some of which are almost threatened, such as Phaner furcifer pallescens.
This protected area has an exceptional biodiversity.
By its richness in biodiversity, the Zombitse Vohibasia National Park presents itself as a research area in excellence. It constitutes a living laboratory if we count the type of research that can be carried out there.
It is composed of a dense dry forest formation with a more or less continuous herbaceous carpet and a savannah
formation, all on a sandy shell.

Overnight: Le Jardin Du Roy
There will be an opportunity for the adventurous to trek through impressive canyons and along dramatic bluffs.
Not to be missed is a walk along the Massif marveling at the stunning views and arriving late in the afternoon at
a natural swimming pool known as ‘La Piscine Naturelle’ which is fed by a waterfall and fringed by swaying
palm trees. A bathe here is a wonderful way to recover from the walk and freshen up. Visit finished, you join your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Le Jardin Du Roy
After crossing the immense arid plateau of Horombe, you will set off to discover the Malagasy highlands, along
the Andringitra massif. After the village of Vohitsoaka, the track becomes more difficult. When you arrive, you check into the hotel.
Overnight: Camp Catta
A few hours of hiking on the track are enough to reach the famous “Pic of Chaméléon” in the Tsaranoro valley.
The view at the top is stunning and the trail leading to it is easy to find.
It is a long and sporty trek requiring a certain endurance. The path is sometimes cluttered with lush vegetation
that can get in the way. The summit is 1540 m above sea level and the drop is 600 m. It takes an average of 5 to 6
hours to get to the very top. Don’t forget to bring your picnic lunches and especially the bottles of mineral water.
In the afternoon, you will take the track back to join the national road. You will stop at Ambalavao to visit an artisanal Antemoro paper factory before continuing your journey to Fianarantsoa.
Overnight: Zomatel
At 06:30 am after breakfast, you leave Fianarantsoa city to visit the Ranomafana National Park. In this park, you
will be escorted into Ranomafana National Park for a day to be spent enjoying its diverse attractions. Covering an area of 41,000 hectares Ranomafana National Park has dense rainforest, fast flowing rivers with rapids and
spectacular waterfalls. It is home to 12 species of lemur including the Golden Bamboo. Lemurs are not the only attraction for 118 species of bird have been recorded. There are also geckos, chameleons, brightly colored frogs and many varieties of orchids can be seen. A number of trails and footpaths lead you through this dense jungle with its tree palms and ferns. The day spent here will be tiring but will provide lasting memories.
Overnight: Centrest Séjour
Today, you will have 174km of road to go to Manakara. During your trip, you will admire the landscape of
eastern Madagascar. A good part of the road is lined with magnificent “Ravinala” (traveler’s tree).
Clove trees and coffee trees then begin to form the charms of the road.
Indeed, the landscape throughout this Ranomafana Manakara route is also picturesque that you will not get tired
of it.
Overnight: La Vanille
You will leave aboard a large private canoe on the Pangalanes, an astonishing channel separated from the ocean
by a narrow strip of land, where many lagoons and coastal rivers extend over almost 600 km. You will discover a
succession of eucalyptus, water hyacinths and casuarina trees as well as plantations of vanilla, coffee, cocoa or cloves. The canoes act as a taxi-brousse because the canal is the artery that opens up the hamlets and allows the
products to flow to the agglomerations. The fishermen will take you to the sea for a swim. Free afternoon.
Overnight: La Vanille
You will take the car to go to Ranomafana.
In the afternoon, you will visit the thermal spring and bathe there.
Overnight and dinner at the Hotel.

The journey north is continued. The town of Antsirabe has been chosen as the place to check into an hotel for the night. Here you can relax and get a good night’s sleep before continuing the journey the next day.

After an early breakfast your journey north continues to the Andasibe village where there is Analamazaotra
National Park. On arrival during the afternoon, you can either relax or visit Lemur Island where lemurs which had previously been kept as pets now live in only a lightly controlled environment.
Overnight: Vakôna Forest Lodge
Today, you will explore Andasibe National Park. On arrival at the Park you will be introduced to your local wildlife guide and he will be with you throughout the day to help guide you and answer any questions. Andasibe
is a mountain forest and as such offers the possibility to spot a variety of lemurs, reptiles and birds. One of its
most famous inhabitants is the Indri, the largest of the lemurs, which is often described as a black and white teddy bear. The Indri’s call is heard long before you might see them and their distinctive early morning group
communication calls will justify the early start to your day. Other lemurs which can be seen here are the RedBellied Lemur, Brown Lemur and the Lesser Bamboo Lemur. Some, such as the Brown Mouse Lemur and
Greater Dwarf Lemur are nocturnal, and others, such as the Eastern Woolly Lemur, the Sportive Lemur and the very rare Aye Aye, can only be seen at certain times of the year (September/October through to May)

Today you will have a journey of 159 km. The landscapes from the eastt to the highlands are diversifying. Don’t
forget the photo breaks to fully appreciate the beautiful landscapes during your trip with the explanations of your
guide driver. Then, you will arrive at Marozevo where there is Pereyras Reserve. It is private reserve that you
will find the fauna of Madagascar with many varieties of chameleons and butterflies, geckos, frogs, crocodiles,
huge bats.. At the afternoon, you will begin to enter at the highlands part of Madagascar. And at the end of the afternoon, you arrive in Antananarivo city.. The hotel welcomes you for your dinner and night .
